I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve just bought a Tiger Cat E1 kit car! After a long search, I’ve finally taken the plunge and got my hands on a project car that I’ve been dreaming about for a while. It’s going to need a lot of work, but I’m more than ready for the challenge.
Unfortunately, the pickup didn’t go quite as planned. Just two miles after collecting the car, it overheated and boiled all the coolant, forcing me to have it towed home instead of driving it back. To make matters worse, the seller wasn’t interested in helping out or offering any further support. It was a bit of a rough start, to say the least!
Despite the rocky beginning, I’m still excited about the project. The Tiger Cat E1 is a true kit car classic, and I’m ready to dive in and restore it to its former glory. From sorting out the electrics and rewiring the loom, to repairing the dashboard and overhauling the cooling system, there’s plenty to keep me busy in the coming months.
I’ll be documenting the entire restoration process here on the blog, so keep an eye out for updates, progress photos, and stories from the workshop. This is the start of a new adventure, and I can’t wait to get stuck in!
Let the restoration begin!
