The Surprises Keep Coming: My Tiger Cat E1 Nightmare Begins

Well, I thought I knew what I was getting into when I bought this Tiger Cat E1, but the surprises just kept coming. It turns out, this project is much worse than I expected. Every time I think I’ve uncovered the worst of it, something else rears its ugly head.

For starters, the carpets were soaking wet—probably a sign of deeper issues lurking beneath. The electrics? Let’s just say they were as dodgy as it gets, a total rewiring job waiting to happen. Then, as if things couldn’t get worse, I realised the floor looked like Wolverine had slashed through it a couple of times. Rust everywhere. It’s like the car has been slowly dissolving from the inside out.

And the cabling? An absolute nightmare. It’s a tangled mess that makes no sense, almost as if it was put together in the dark. As I dug deeper, I discovered the fuel lines were compromised, thanks to screws that were too close for comfort. A major safety hazard that could have gone catastrophically wrong.

At this point, I couldn’t help but feel like I’d walked right into a money pit. This car was supposed to be running and roadworthy, sold to me with a full MOT. Yet, here I was, uncovering one problem after another. Was this the right decision? It’s hard to stay positive when every step forward reveals two steps back. I knew restoring a kit car was going to be a challenge, but this was starting to feel like hell on wheels.

Still, I’m determined to see it through. But, honestly, there’s a part of me that’s wondering if I’ve bitten off more than I can chew… Stay tuned for the next chapter of this rollercoaster restoration.
